After reconnecting with each other after eighteen years, Ralph Sutton and Fred Wynne began their quest to develop Ralph’s unique one of a kind 3D framed artwork in a shadowbox. In 2006, they formed what is known today as Ralph Sutton Designs, LLC. (RSD)
The two dynamic partners were in the process of establishing a thriving business, when an unfortunate family emergency followed by a family tragedy virtually brought the business to a stand still for more than two and a half years. Fortunately, RSD started to make up for lost time and acquired multiple licenses and began creating art to sell to mass merchants.
Both licensed and generic 3D artwork has been met with much enthusiasm in the marketplace and in a short time RSD Company began to grow. RSD hired two very talented graphic artists- Peter Bergeron and Christina Kohler, a COO, Jeff Wynne, an administrative assistant, Linda Sutton, a social media manger, Melanie Wynne, and a VP of sales & research/development, Gregg Wynne. Together we are the team that makes up Ralph Sutton Designs.
Ralph Sutton was born in 1948 in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Art has been his passion from elementary school, to present day. He was interested in all facets of the art world, winning numerous awards throughout his career. While a freshman at Youngstown State University in Ohio, one of his most notable achievements was his acceptance in the prestigious mid-year show at Butler Institute of American Art. (One of the top 5 museum shows in the country). Upon graduation, Ralph taught advanced courses in commercial art and advertising design, and reorganized the university's commercial art curriculum.
In 1973 Ralph opened an advertising agency in Ohio and while there, won awards in design and lay-out.
After moving to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in 1979 with his wife Linda, Ralph continued working in graphic art & design. He worked in many different areas using a wide variety of styles and techniques, including: magazine illustration, logo design, cartooning, and storyboards. After his daughter Kristen was born in 1989, Ralph developed his 3-D art technique as a way to decorate her room with a very unique décor.
After refining his 3-D art, he approached a long-time friend and associate Fred Wynne, and together they formed Ralph Sutton Designs, LLC. With Fred's marketing skills and Ralph’s artistic ability, they have taken the company to a new level.
Ralph likes to travel, enjoys spending time with his family, and what else? You guessed it- cartooning!
Growing up in Millburn, NJ, I was captain of football, basketball and baseball teams at Millburn HS. I graduated from Cornell University and played varsity basketball. I have been a partner in Burrelle’sLuce in Livingston, NJ, for many years. I founded VMS, an international electronic news retrieval service based in NYC, and also was the founder of Links Magazine, a national newsstand golf magazine. My wife, Nicolette and I have resided in Hilton Head Island, SC for the last 26 years.
I met Ralph Sutton 26 years ago in Hilton Head Island, SC. He created some very successful novel advertisements for my chain of video stores. Four years ago I reconnected with Ralph businesswise as he showed me his new creation – 3D framed artwork. It was awesome but he had no way to market this exciting product. I loved his work so much that I entered into a partnership with Ralph called Ralph Sutton Designs to market his unique 3D artwork.
My three favorite things are my Family, sports, and work.
After working in the Public Relations and Advertising business for 20 years, I knew it was time for a much needed a change. I worked for a short while in the golf industry, as well as attended school to obtain a Teaching Certificate so I could teach and coach children.
When the opportunity to work with my Dad presented itself I was more than excited to join the Ralph Sutton Design team. With RSD I have the ability to use my business background as well as learn and create with our talented designers.
Outside of work my biggest passion is my family- wife of 15 years, Melanie, and our two children, Alex (12) and Cameron (10). I love sports and I coach my children’s soccer and basketball teams! I also continue to play basketball in my spare time and am an avid golfer.
I live in Santa Rosa Beach, FL a wonderful beach town along with my beautiful family; wife Monette married to for 11 years, son Ranger who is 6, fraternal twin girls Gisele & Marlee who are 4, and our dog Hunter who is 11 years old. I have worked 15 years for corporate America, which I enjoyed very much, but it was time for new career change. Given the opportunity of working for a family business with my father and brother was something I couldn't pass up and took the job with Ralph Sutton Designs right away. My business background is a combination of sales & creativity, which is a perfect fit for Ralph Sutton Designs and me.
My favorite things to do outside of work is spending time with my family going to the beach or swimming all day at the pool, traveling with the family to different destinations, and of course sports mainly golf these days getting too old to run up and down the basketball court anymore.
Lastly my nickname is Sugar I have type 1 diabetes and have had it for 30 years now and the Sugar fit well.
Born in Connecticut and raised in South Carolina, I grew up interested in sports and art. I played football, soccer, chess, and was a figure skater as well. I work out heavily and climb everything I can. I prefer to be outside all the time.
After teaching at a small private school for five years RSD came to me and asked if I would be interested in working with them. I was looking for something different and this opportunity presented a great chance to do something I wouldn't have done before.
I love my dog (who is entirely too large), my comic book collection (which is entirely too large), and snowboarding.
I was born on Long Island, New York and raised on Hilton Head Island, SC. I went to Hilton Head High School and later received a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Art has been a passion of mine throughout my whole life. I have studied and experimented with many different mediums. My focus and strengths are in Graphic Design and Interior Design.
I became involved with Ralph Sutton Designs in August 2010. On a daily basis I am working with the adobe creative suite and digital photography. Ralph Sutton Design Team is an extremely creative family to work with. I am very grateful to be able to do what I love. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my boyfriend, Patrick, my family, and my adorable six-month-old boxer Maya.
Living on Hilton Head enables me to pursue my other passions bike riding, boating, wake boarding and golf.
I was employed as a Merchandise Manager/Sport Retail Buyer for Sea Pines Resorts for 12 years. I retired when my daughter Kristen was born and became a full time mom. She is now a senior in college.
I am happy to be able to use the skills I acquired working for Sea Pines Resorts to help my husband Ralph with his business. Working with RSD allows me to use my business and creative talents again.
My favorite things are my family and pets, travel, and the beach.
After growing up in Dallas, Texas, I attended the University of Texas in Austin, and the University of North Texas where I received my teaching certificate/Masters in Special Education. After teaching several years in various areas, I decided it was time to focus my energy on my growing family, and became a “Domestic Engineer”.
After assisting RSD in gathering materials for a previous website, I was asked if I would be interested in permanently joining the RSD team, as my attention to detail and organizational skills would be helpful.
I am the very grateful mom of two fantastic children, Alexandra and Cameron, and wife to one truly amazing husband Jeff. I also love travelling (anytime & anywhere) and collecting seashells.
As a young man born into a family of artists Randall resisted a natural inclination to follow in the family tradition and attempted to find another direction, something different. He enjoyed flying, one of the many interests he and his father shared. His father encouraged him to join the Army in the late sixties.
In an effort to help raise awareness and to support the victims of the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001, Ralph Sutton Designs has partnered with Tuesday’s Children, an organization based in Manhasset, NY, that has dedicated itself to those children who lost a loved-one on that day. A portion of the sales from Ralph Sutton Designs Commemorative Collection will be donated to Tuesday’s Children on our behalf.
